Celebration of life service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday Nov. 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, IL.
Burial will follow at St. Valentine Cemetery, rural Jasper County, IL.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 A.M. Thursday at the Church.
The family request that an expression of sympathy may take the form of a contribution to the Oblong Food Pantry or the Jasper County Sheriff’s “Shop with a Cop” with envelopes available at the church or may be mailed to Pulliam Funeral Home P.O. Box 121 Oblong, IL 62449.
Grover Cleveland Michl, 86, of Oblong, IL (The Bend Area) passed away on Sunday October 29, 2017 at the Magnolia Center at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.
Grover was born on May 31, 1931 in Ste. Marie Township, Jasper County IL. to Henry George and Clara (Geiger) Michl. On November 29, 1952 he married Marilyn Lee Ikemire who survives.
Grover was the owner and operator of Hobart Plumbing and Heating in Valparaiso, IN. Grover had served in the United States Marines. He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong, IL, Ste. Marie American Legion Post #0932 and the Plumbing and Piping Contractors Association of Northern Indiana. Grover enjoyed hunting and fishing and always helped around the farm.
Grover is survived by his wife Marilyn Michl, Oblong, IL, a son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Cheryl Michl, Oblong, IL; two grandchildren David Michl, Willow Hill, IL, Kathryn and Denver Musgrave, Oblong, IL; three great grandchildren Grady Michl and Elijah Michl, Willow Hill, IL and Aydin Musgrave, Oblong,IL. Grover is also survived by sister-in-law Elizabeth “Roseann” Michl, Westville, IN and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sandra and Dennis Wiech, Rolling Prairie, IN along with several nieces and nephews.
Grover was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jane Cox and his brother Franklin “Frank” Michl.
